At Billy Boy we are committed to the safe handling and distribution of the food products we sell.  In this area there is simply no room for compromise.   That's why we welcome regular OMAFRA inspections ( twice in the past year at our facility ) and have enlisted the aid of food safety experts including OMAFRA officials to develop our safe food handling policies and procedures.

 

Our safe food handling procedures have been developed and refined over the decades, and are proud to say that our company standards don't just meet government thresholds, they exceed them.   At Billy Boy, we have developed traceability into every food product we carry.   That means we determined exactly where every product we carry came from.   We can trace thr route it took to us all the way back to it's place of origin or harvest.   Traceability is critical in the event of a recall or other safety issue involving a producer or farmer.

 

Traceability also ensures the products we distribute are the freshest available. Our system allows us to pinpoint the exact time of harvest of production.   Freshness is paramount at Billy Boy because we know that fresh produce is quality produce.  We also have procedures and policies in place to ensure our food preparation, storage, and shipping areas exceed industry standards for cleanliness. In addition our walk-in cold storage units are monitored and undergo regular maintenance to guarantee optimized conditions for storage and freshness and food longevity.
